OVN - The Women's Startup Contest 2021 with the theme
On October 15, 2021, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) held a ceremony to present the Vietnam Women's Award 2021 and the Women Entrepreneurship Contest 2021 in Hanoi. The program was carried out in Hanoi and online at 26 provincial, city bridges and broadcast on the Government Portal. With the participation of Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh; Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Ha Thi Nga; Representatives the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, departments, branches, unions; Leaders of some provinces and cities; Leaders of the Central Vietnam Women's Union, the Women's Union of 26 provinces and cities.
This year's Vietnam Women's Award was awarded to 6 outstanding groups and 10 inpiduals in the fields of economy, education, culture, medicine, social work, and community development.

About the 4th Women's Starup Contest with the theme "Women starting a business raise the brand of OCOP products" launched by the Vietnam Women's Union from mid-February 2021 attracted 1,549 proposals project/idea to participate.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Ha Thi Nga, President of the Vietnam Women's Union said: “We are very pleased that in the context of businesses facing unprecedented difficulties due to the Covid – 19 pandemic caused, but many women still pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations, the number of projects submitted to the central level competition this year increased by 1.6 times compared to 2020. Has shown readiness and determination to recover and develop the economy after the Covid-19 pandemic…”
The contest attracted a large number of women from all walks of life, of all ages, in which the youngest contestant was 17 years old and the oldest was 71 years old. Among 1449 contestants, 14% are businesses, 15% are cooperatives, 13% of projects come from ethnic minority areas, up to 1/3 of poverty reduction models are women with disabilities (accounting for 5%) and 10% of products, services of the projects that have participated in the program One commune One Product that meets the standards of 3-4 stars.
Among these, the field of agriculture - forestry - fishery, food processing accounted for the highest proportion with 54%, followed by the service sector 20%, handicrafts accounting for 11%, technology (biology, environment) accounted for 2%, other fields accounted for 13%.
In particular, this year's contest received an active response from women affected by HIV (1%), women with disabilities (5%) and women who have repented and reintegrated into the community (21%); 45% of projects/ideas are of ethnic minority women living in disadvantaged areas; 10% of the projects are OCOP products, reaching the standard of 3 stars or more and the projects of female students from universities across the country…
Honoring typical projects
In the face of the complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Organizing Committee also transitioned to a safe adaptation state, implemented many accompanying activities to bring digital knowledge to women starting a business, training to improve their skills, resources for businesses/cooperatives managed by women, organize pre-incubation training for project/idea authors and Regional Online Presentation Competition.
Through all rounds, the Organizing Committee has selected from thousands of participating ideas from grassroots to central level, 24 outstanding ideas/projects have been selected to award the Women's Startup Contest 2021. The total prize value is nearly 2.5 billion VND and many other rewards.
Representative of the Vietnam Women's Union, President Ha Thi Nga warmly congratulated the collectives and inpiduals that won the Women's Startup Competition in 2021. With the message: continue to promote talent and enthusiasm, spread positive and creative energy in labor, create many initiatives with high efficiency in practical application, contributing to national construction.
