Ben Tre promotes the potential and effectiveness of OCOP products
In 2024, the province will maintain activities to support businesses in promoting and connecting market supply and demand in many forms suitable to actual conditions. The province will organize and participate in industrial, trade and culinary fairs; participate in displaying and introducing typical products and OCOP products; conferences on connecting trade and product consumption; Coconut industry scientific seminars; support 50% of booth rental costs for 34 businesses participating in domestic fairs... Thereby, many cooperation memorandums of understanding will be signed.

The work of supporting the display and introduction of OCOP products is carried out regularly. Supporting and connecting enterprises, cooperatives, production and business households, agricultural production households to bring key products and OCOP products to participate in domestic and foreign e-commerce trading floors: Postmart.vn, Voso.vn, Sendo, Amazon... In addition, the work of inspecting, controlling the market, and arranging the buying and selling order is well implemented according to plan.
The New Rural Development Program has been focused on implementation, in 2024, 25 new rural communes, 20 advanced new rural communes, and 16 model new rural communes were recognized; by the end of the year, the whole province had 113 communes meeting new rural standards (including 46 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 19 model new rural communes). Mo Cay Nam district met the new rural district standards; Chau Thanh, Thanh Phu, and Mo Cay Bac districts basically met the new rural district criteria; Cho Lach district basically met the advanced new rural district criteria.
In particular, the OCOP Program has received attention and development from business households, enterprises, and cooperatives. During the year, the province certified 153 more OCOP products with 3 stars or more; to date, the whole province has 341 OCOP products with 3 stars or more from 174 entities.
Unlocking the potential of rural areas
According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Minh Canh, in 2025, the province sets a goal of developing OCOP products to promote the potential and advantages of rural areas, increase people’s income; continue to restructure the agricultural sector associated with the development of small-scale industries, occupations, services and rural tourism; promote sustainable development of the rural economy, on the basis of enhancing the application of science and technology, digital transformation, preserving cultural values, managing resources, preserving biodiversity, landscapes and the environment... contributing to building a new rural area in depth, effectively and sustainably.

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Minh Canh, to achieve the above goal, the province will focus on diversifying communication and propaganda activities to regularly implement the OCOP Program in many forms, integrating with communication activities in implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development.
Develop 6 OCOP product groups according to Decision No. 148/QD-TTg dated February 24, 2023 of the Prime Minister on promulgating the set of criteria and procedures for evaluating and classifying OCOP Program products, prioritizing agricultural, non-agricultural, service, traditional and advantageous products in each locality.
Investing in the application of science and technology, innovation, improvement of technology, production processes, preliminary processing, preservation, and product processing to improve productivity and quality of OCOP products. Production according to advanced quality management processes, food safety, forming characteristic OCOP products, quality and safety, environmentally friendly, meeting market requirements.
Promoting trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand of OCOP products through national, regional, and provincial fairs and exhibitions of OCOP products. Strengthening digital transformation, research, and application of scientific and technical advances...
By 2025, the province strives to have 45 products participating in the evaluation and classification of OCOP products with 3 stars or more, including new certification, re-certification and star upgrade; 100% of expired products participating in re-certification. Continue to complete the dossier for potential 5-star products to submit for evaluation and classification of OCOP products at the national level. 100% of OCOP entities participate in sales channels (supermarket systems or convenience stores or e-commerce trading floors, etc.). For the group of community tourism products and services, eco-tourism and tourist destinations, strive to have 2 products achieving 3 stars or more (including new certification, re-certification and star upgrade). |
